Johanna Hilla Sopanen
Speaker Bio
Johanna is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Exeter. Previously she completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Religious Studies at the University of Groningen. She spent a portion of her Master's degree at a Jungian Institute Fundación Vocación Humana in Buenos Aires, where she was supervised on her thesis on Carl Jung's Red Book by Dr. Bernardo Nante. Her talk is a summary of a paper in the upcoming anthology on 'Philosophy of Psychedelics' published by Bloomsbury in 2022.Johanna is an active member of Philosophy of Psychedelics research group at University of Exeter. Her current research focuses on philosophy of science, specifically species conglomeration, the microbiome and questions of individuality. In addition, she organizes biweekly Transdisciplinary Research Colloquiums on Psychedelic Science. Johanna works as a Coordinator of Education and Training at Psychedelics Today where she is the lead coordinator of a twelve month Psychedelic Training Program 'Vital'.She is also at the board of a Dreamshadow Transpersonal Breathwork that specializes in education around holotropic breathwork and transpersonal psychology.
