Miitxya, a member of the Fulni-ô ethnicity, resides in Águas Belas, Pernambuco, Brazil, among around 7000 indigenous people. Born to Fulni-ô parents, he embraces his native language, IATHÊ, and sustains his livelihood through craftsmanship. As an ambassador, Miitxya travels to major cities, showcasing the Fulni-o culture, traditional medicines and handicrafts. Deeply rooted in his heritage, he advocates for the preservation of Fulni-ô traditions, particularly the sacred practice of Jurema medicine. His engagements extend beyond mere representation, as he actively participates in events and conferences, sharing the vibrant traditions of his people. Through his work, Miitxya aims to share Fulni-ô culture with Brazil and the world, fostering understanding and collaboration. His efforts transcend geographical boundaries, as he endeavours to promote understanding and appreciation of Fulni-ô traditions both within Brazil and globally. He facilitates exchange and collaboration, welcoming visitors from around the world to his tribe to share in the wealth of knowledge regarding herbs, plants, rituals, and history.
